A normal workday would begin on the job staging equipment, tools and materials. There are basically 3 stages of work to a plumbing job, underground, above ground rough-in, then finish. In HVAC there are generally 2 stages to a job, Rough-in and finish. Rough-in consists of running pipe, water lines, duct work, venting, gas piping and numerous others depending on the specific job. Finish work is setting equipment like furnaces, water heaters, air exchangers, water softeners, making final connections to gas appliances, final water connections, setting fixtures, running water and testing the systems.
