    If I want to go into law enforcement where should I start?

    Submit an application, research the corrections field and contact the jail for a tour and / or job shadowing.

    Talk to your HS counselor about high school courses in psychology, communication and public speaking that you can take. Look into college programs in law enforcement and visit with the college faculty and students. Take a tour of a local police departments and interview police officers, sheriffs and corrections officers currently working.

    To become a Corrections Officer you must; obtain high school diploma get a college (2 or 4 year) degree, pass the law enforcement entrance and skills exams.
