If I am interested, where do I start?

My recommendation is to do a little research into the trades on your own to familiarize yourself with the trade and make sure this is something you want to do. If you would like a little head start, I would recommend a 1-year technical program, but this is not required. You could also make some phone calls or stop into local shops just to speak with an owner or project manager. A 30-minute conversation can go along way.
