Inactive00000How did you begin your career?

Inactive00000Often students begin by earning a Dental Assistant AAS degree. This the most common path for training to become a dental hygienist. These programs teach the theoretical knowledge and hands-on training to prepare students. Students must also pass the state licensing exam when completing the program. Students then either work or enroll in Dental Hygienists’ program at a 4 year college/university. There are students who simply begin at a four year college in the Dental Hygienist program as well.
Dental Hygienist programs have criteria for admissions therefore I would recommend you visit with both 2 and 4 year colleges/universities to determine where you want to start. Also, visit with your local dentist so see what he/she would recommend.
