    What is the future for an athletic trainer or coach?

    Coaches:
    Student safety is a priority in all HS sports and athletic trainers are an important part of this. Jobs vary by district and geographic region. The job outlook through 2026 for ALL athletic trainers(not just HS) is 23%. So there are many opportunities. Keep in mind that this position may be part or full time depending upon the school.

    Athletic Trainers:
    Employment of athletic trainers is projected to grow 16 percent from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations. Demand for athletic trainers is expected to increase as people become more aware of the effects of sports-related injuries, and as the middle-aged and older population remains active.
