    What does a school want when they hire a Para?

    Need to be dependable and have great communication skills. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must complete two years of college, earn an associate’s degree or pass a formal paraprofessional written test consisting of reading, writing and math assessments .Must be able to tutor students one on one or in a small group setting. Must be able to co-teach in a designated subject area, assist students during classroom instructional activities and help students stay on task. Computer and technology skills are needed to assist in instructional activities, depending on subject area.
