There are jobs currently however the need for programmers is expected to decrease. There are jobs to replace retirements and other IT jobs that have a projected growth in need of qualified workers. Employment of computer programmers is projected to decline 9% from 2018-2028. Programming can be done from anywhere in the world so companies are able to hire programmers in countries where wages are lower.
