Do people such as detectives or forensic science technicians ever feel that they might be put in some sort of danger due to investigating some cases?

Typically forensic technicians work in diagnostic labs or the crime scene after the crime has been committed. There it little danger in these jobs. The detectives are out in the community asking questions, visiting the crime scene and can place themselves in dangerous situations. Most crimes are such that detectives are rarely in danger.
