Where do I start if I want to be a nurse?

You will want to enter a nationally accredited nursing program. You may need to complete some pre-requisites or general education requirements first. I would strongly recommend taking a Nursing Assistant course and then taking the written and skills test to get your name on the state registry. This will allow you to begin working in healthcare and take advantage of scholarships while you are in nursing school.
